FAQs
How do I get to the retreat?
We ask that everyone arrive at San José Airport (SJO) on Sunday, February 16, 2025. We’ll arrange group transportation from the airport to our lodging at Hermosa Point Resort.
I haven’t surfed before, is that okay?
Yes! This retreat is designed with beginner or new surfers in mind. We’ve teamed up with a professional surfing school to offer small-group lessons individualized to your comfort level and abilities.
What should I bring?
A few comfortable and sturdy swimsuits, sunscreen, a hat for the sun, and a swim top are the must-haves! Along with your sense of adventure and openness to new experiences, of course.
Be sure to also bring cash or a credit card to pay for any excursions not included in the retreat. Most vendors will accept American cash but you can also exchange for Costa Rican colóns when here.
How does payment work?
An initial deposit of $1000 is required to secure your booking. The remaining balance is due 4 months before our trip so that all activities, services, and support can be confirmed. Individual payment plans will be discussed after your booking and deposit are secured.
At this retreat, will I have to share my deepest feelings with strangers?
Not at all!
This retreat is an opportunity to connect with others, share experiences, offer support, and gain different perspectives under the guidance of a licensed therapist. When paired with our breathtaking location and surfing experience, you’re set up to build lasting relationships with each other and deepen your understanding of yourself.
I’m coming to Costa Rica another time, can I work with you then?
Yes! If you’re interested in surf therapy but unable to attend the group retreat, I’m happy to create a custom, mini-retreat for you (minimum 3-day experience).
